Salt air and condenser fin rot
Your condenser sits right at the front of the car, behind the grille, shedding heat through hundreds of paper thin aluminium fins. Living near the beach, salty sea mist corrodes those fins until they flake away and crumble.
The signs: air con struggling at traffic lights, lukewarm air, or the electric fan running flat out. Left alone, the extra pressure can take out the compressor too. Sean checks for fin rot and micro leaks during his spring inspections, so don't wait for the first sweltering day to find out.
